“The Heat Is On” is open to member artists of the Arizona Art Alliance’s Member Arts Organization. The theme is open to individual interpretation by the artist. As it heats up outside, we will feature your cool art on our website. And since this competition & exhibit is online, you may enter from some cool location far from the Valley of the Sun!
Entry Fees vary depending upon whether the artist is an Arizona Art Alliance Juried Member Artist or Non-Juried Member Artist. Please check Member Arts Organization listing on our website before applying https://azartalliance.com/about-us/member-arts-organizations-2021/.

June 6 – July 5, 2021: online submissions
July 9: Notification via email
July 11- August 31, 2021: virtual exhibition
July 11- 2:00 PM – virtual reception and announcement of award winners via zoom
July 12-August 31, 2021 – award recipients may arrange to retrieve their checks, ribbons and certificates at the Arizona Art Alliance office.
Eligibility: The 2021 Arizona Art Alliance The Heat is ON virtual exhibition is open to artist-members of the Arizona Art Alliance Member Arts Organizations. All art must be the artist’s original work. Open to all 2D and to 3D work. NFS artworks may be submitted. The Arizona Art Alliance reserves the right to NOT post artwork it deems inappropriate.

Entry Categories as follows:
Juried Member Artists are those belonging to one or more of the Member Arts Organizations listed on the Arizona Art Alliance website AND who HAVE ACHIEVED juried status with the Arizona Art Alliance (not referring to juried status with Member Arts Organization)
Non-Juried Member Artists are those belonging to one or more of the Member Arts Organizations listed on the Art Alliance website AND who have NOT ACHIEVED juried status with the Arizona Art Alliance.
Entry Fees (non-refundable):
Juried Member Artists – $25 for up to 3 pieces
Non-Juried Member Artists – $35 for up to 3 pieces
Cash & Ribbon Awards:
First Place: $250 cash & ribbon
Second Place: $150 cash & ribbon
Third Place: $100 cash & ribbon
Honorable Mention, ribbon only
(As this is a virtual show award recipients may make arrangements to pick up their check, ribbons and award certificate at the Arizona Art Alliance offices)
Submissions:
Entries are submitted online through the Arizona Art Alliance Website.
Be sure to have the following information prepared for your submission: title, medium, dimensions and price.
Images must not exceed 5MB or 6 inches on the longest side.
Image files requirements: name your files with your last name, a space, entry number. Example: Smith 1; Smith 2; Smith 3.
Be sure your image number corresponds with your entry number.
Information required: title, medium, dimensions and price.
Payments are made online through PayPal or Credit Card. You do not need to have a paypal account to process your payment.
No substitute or additional images will be accepted after completing the application process.

2-D Artists: images of artwork should have no background or frame visible.
3-D Artists: image may show a simple background.
Collaborative artworks may be entered in this show.
All artwork must be:
– the artist’s original work. No copy giclee prints allowed (photography & digitally-produced prints are allowed as originals).
– Artwork that has shown in the Interpretations VI exhibit in 2021 will not be accepted.
Sales:
The Arizona Art Alliance will not be handling sales of this exhibition. Arizona Art Alliance does not request a percentage on sales. Any sales that may result from this online competition must be negotiated solely by the Artist him/herself with the interested party and the Arizona Art Alliance assumes no responsibility for the integrity of the transaction. Artists are reminded to be cautious with online payment negotiations.

Artists retain copyright to the artwork; however Arizona Art Alliance reserves the right to publish the supplied images of artwork for this and future exhibitions, and for use in the Arizona Art Alliance marketing.
