As temperatures rise across Arizona, we’re turning up the cool with your hottest artwork! The Heat Is On 2026 is an open-themed, virtual exhibition showcasing original works by members of the Arizona Art Alliance Member Arts Organizations. Whether you’re working from the desert or the coast, you can participate from anywhere.

Important Dates

• Call Opens: May 15, 2026
  Submission Deadline: June 15, 2026
  Artist Notification: June 31, 2026 (via email)
  Virtual Reception & Awards: July 11, 2026 | Noon (online)
  Award Pick-Up: July 12- July 31, 2026  (Arizona Art Alliance Office, by appointment)

Eligibility

• Open to all members of Arizona Art Alliance Member Arts Organizations.
  Not sure if you qualify? Check our member list.

• Original 2D, 3D artwork and jewelry are welcome.

• NFS (Not For Sale) works may be submitted.

• All work must be original — no giclée reproductions. (Photography and digitally-created works are accepted as originals.)

• Previously exhibited work in any AzAA exhibition will not be accepted.

• Collaborative works are allowed. Please credit all artists involved.

• The Arizona Art Alliance reserves the right to decline submissions deemed inappropriate.

Entry Fee

• $30 for up to 3 artworks (non-refundable)
  All entries must be submitted through the Arizona Art Alliance website.

Awards

• 1st Place: $250 + Ribbon
  2nd Place: $150 + Ribbon
  3rd Place: $100 + Ribbon
  Honorable Mentions: Ribbon Only

Award recipients may retrieve ribbons, certificates, and checks in person at the Alliance office.

Submission Requirements

Prepare the following before submitting online:

• Title, Medium, Dimensions, Price (or NFS)
  A short bio (about you and your art journey)
  A brief artist statement (about the work you’re submitting)

• Image files:
  – Max file size: 5MB
  – Longest side no more than 6 inches
  – File naming: LastName 1, LastName 2, LastName 3
  – Make sure your entry number matches your image number
  – No substitutes or edits accepted after submission
  – 2D images must be cropped (no frame or background)
  – 3D and jewelry may have a simple background

Sales

Sales will be handled directly between artist and buyer. The Arizona Art Alliance does not take a commission or act as a third party in any transactions. Artists are encouraged to exercise caution when arranging online payments.

Image Use & Copyright

Artists retain full copyright of their work. By entering, artists grant permission for the Arizona Art Alliance to use submitted images for promotional purposes related to this and future exhibitions.
